Calling a “redo”

Sometimes we just need to call a “redo.” I’m cracking open my already completed, polished book proposal — the book proposal that several editors were ready to take on and begin moving toward publication. Before entering a contract, I took a step back and realized that the direction they wanted it to go (putting it in the hands of counselors and medical professionals) was not the direction I wanted it to go (can we say real, everyday people sipping a cup of coffee and curled up in their pajamas in the couch?). So, I’m dusting off the pages, with the help of some people with skills and knowledge beyond mine, like Jen Sincero, and I’m I’m reworking it so that it fits MY vision and MY calling.

I don’t know about you, but calling a redo isn’t easy when we’ve poured blood, sweat and tears into something. But, you know what? If it gets us closer to our goal, IT. IS. WORTH. IT.

I continue learning that slow is often better than fast, and hitting the refresh button on the path toward our goal - including some redos in between - usually gets us to the place where we are meant to be.

I am sending you #courage as you tweak, restructure or redo — and move one step closer to realizing your #dream. xx, Lindsay 💕
