All this city adventuring has left me inspired and excited to spring clean and freshen up my home decor. I love me a little decorating. And I find it so important to take the time, every once in a while, to do something different with our living space in order to foster creativity, gratitude and awe for life. My next project involves adding more black into my color palate. My sewing machine is just waiting for me to make some buffalo check and houndstooth pillows for my living room. I also have a couple of black and white striped rugs for my hallway coming from @westelm (BEST deal ever!). What little freshen up are you planning to keep you inspired and happy?

A little morning inspiration from my home to yours. Does anyone find themselves at a crossroads...needing to discover that next right step? As I am drinking in the sunshine and exploring the whispers of my heart, I was reminded of this sign I made years ago. I find this statement to be bold and assuring all at the same time. Take a deep breath and listen. Then walk. One step. At. A. Time.

In honor of International Women’s Day, I have a few things to say.You know, there are so many women in this world doing so many profound things. From acts of love that are done in the mundane, everyday to uncharted acts of bravery.So many heroic women taking on so many personas. From putting on a bandaid to make the boo boo feel better to hugging a friend who lost their loved one to literally saving a life. And so many women go through seasons of hardship, trauma, fear — only to rise up so much better than they ever were before. Women who lost themselves to love only to be abandoned by the one who promised them the world. Women who thought the path to life was external beauty or fame, success or riches. Women who placed their faith outside of themselves only to find that they were misguided. A transformation. Occurs. When we realize we are the ones we have been waiting for. And then. Then we truly know how to love. Navigate. Begin to fight. LIVE. And love ourselves and others from a firm foundational place.

Women who’s journeys have made them strong. And soft. Authentic. Real. They have the most fierce and loyal hearts. They have the most amazing ways of transforming into beauty from ashes. In the words of my new favorite broadway character, Elle Woods, “Yes, that’s my name in black and white. See I have not begun to fight. I am so much better than before.”

Sunday morning reflections: I breathe in the aroma of coffee, candles and essential oils...behold the beauty of delicate flower pedals...become inspired by the bright sunshine peering through my window...soak in the healing music flowing through the rooms of my home...and experience the childlike wonder through passion in my little ones’ eyes.Each of these marvelous wonders would be meaningless without love. As a dear person in my life once said, I am rich with friends. I am rich with family. I am rich with love. It truly makes the world go round. I thank you, God, for the beautiful people in my life.
