Walk By Faith

I think about so many times in my life when I have chosen the easy road. The road that seemed comfortable. The road that had less thorns and briars and the road that seemed safe. Over time, I learned that this comfy, cozy road really didn't end up being what it seemed. It became a road that lead me to a place where I did not wish to go. A place that was not what I had imagined.

The safety I so deeply desired to have was no longer there. I had outgrown this so called safe place. I had to choose whether or not to stay in a place that was now too small for me or to take a leap and start up on a new path.

I summoned all the courage within me, and, with tears and fears, jumped on to a path I hadn't known before. A path filled with new and different. A path filled with darkness and light and fullness of life. A path leading me to real life. True life. Authentic life.

Each brave step I took was met with love and provision. Whenever I am scared to take a leap of faith, I remember the many times I have been held by the hands of my maker and carried through the darkness and brought to a landing place in the light.

I choose certainty and I claim belief. Even when it's hard. Even when it's scary. Because big things come from big acts of faith. And our lives transform from big acts of courageous belief.
