The Art of Knowing

What if we could choose to keep our sights, energy and love on everything good — claiming it, naming it and owning it? What If we chose to disengage from the things that hurt us and bring us down? We would find ourselves feeling a little lighter and more focused on love. We would continue on a path of light and our energy would vibrate in unity with our goals. We would breathe more fluidly, we would find more freedom and we would have more goodness to offer others.

Today, I choose to turn away from everything that seeks to steer me away from love. I wish you the art of knowing where to invest yourself.

A Makeover!

Sometimes, a little makeover is all it takes. The seasons are changing and so are we. It’s important to listen to ourselves when our heart is telling us we need to rework or rebuild.

Recently, my daughter and I redecorated her bedroom from top to bottom. She was ready for a more mature, modern space (yes, she is 8 going on 18!). Now that her room is finally complete, I realized mine could use some updates and some serious TLC.

My life’s motto lately is “some is better than none.” While there is painting to be done on the walls, (sorry, Green Ground, it’s time for for fresh white and navy!), I was able to build a new dresser and accessorize with fun mirrors and such. I LOVE design and decided it was a great way build in some energetic and visual self care.

I’m feeling motivated, renewed and HAPPY! Loving our living spaces is a great way to claim love for our lives. There are so many ways, in addition to refreshing our living spaces that we can bring in some new.

In what ways can you refresh and re-energize your life or your surroundings? Maybe it’s time to recalibrate a friendship that has brought you life in the past.  Maybe it’s time to pursue the career path you’ve always dreamed of. Or maybe it’s time to set a new boundary in your life.

I wish you all the joy as you claim newness and refresh your life. As Nayyirah Waheed says, “Let a new life happen to you.”

This Is Me

I love me. I don’t know about you, but baby I love me..

Tonight, we were singing this song before bedtime. Avery reminded me that I wasn’t singing it right. She showed me a thing or two.  Then she proceeded to say, “This is one of our family rules. If your gonna live in our house, you NEED to do this. It’s a requirement. This is a house of all good things. Nothing bad is allowed to live here.” YES, dear girl. We do loving ourselves here. And in turn, we do loving others. Yes. We do. ❤️

Yep, today was a good one. It was cold and rainy, but the warmth inside me was strong. Feeling great and loving this life I choose.

I’m starting to think about how I can make the time to get my to-do list done while loving me and others well tomorrow. A run is definitely on the list. How about you? Where can you carve a window to slay a little dragon or prioritize in a little self love? You’re WORTH it!

This is ME

It’s been way too long since I’ve said “Hey! This is ME!” So...I’m taking a moment to introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me and share some updates with those of you that do.

I am Lindsay Sea Wills and I am passionate about empowering people to feel their feelings, process their experiences, overcome hurdles and truly LIVE their lives in abundance. An authenticity advocate and mother of two, I am a counselor, singer, speaker, teacher and writer. I am a lover of the outdoors and an essential oils enthusiast.

My counseling practice, Live True Counseling, offers individual counseling services in Traverse City, MI.  A recent  TEDx Traverse City Pitch finalist, I shared about living a courageous, compassionate, resilient and awakened life (link on homepage). This winter, my writing will appear in Grand Traverse Woman Magazine where I will also share about self love as the featured speaker.  Additionally, I look forward to speaking about my life and work in the Fulfillament series in Traverse City this coming May. In January of 2019, I will be directing the State Honors Choir at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids. My professional and life motto is: Summoning strength and beauty. Igniting Courage and Compassion.

I love my two kiddos with a reckless abandon.  I love nature. I love water — canoeing, sailing and paddle boarding are my favorites! I love design and I LOVE inspiring people. My tribe is my refuge and dancing makes my heart soar. I’m a songbird and if you know me at all, I sing a little ditty about most everything.

This is me and this is a snapshot of my passion and my life’s work. Thanks for learning more! I’m so excited to see how my journey continues to unfold and I am equally overjoyed to support others as they love themselves into a wholehearted, abundant life.  Have an amazing day filled with of all the good stuff!! 💕Lindsay
